In mixer and agitator applications, high radial and axial bearing loads occur due to the nature of the process – this is where the MAXXDRIVE® industrial gear units from NORD show their strength. Thanks to their robust design and optimised, high-quality components, the large gear units (output torques from 15 to 282 Nm) provide ultimate levels of load capacity and operational safety while ensuring reliable operation even under extreme conditions. The FEM-optimised, compact design ensures maximum strength and rigidity. All bearing points are integrated in the housing block so that there are no sealing surfaces which are subject to torque and radial loads. Large low-friction rolling bearings also ensure extremely high axial and radial load capacities.

NORD also offers a wide range of optional variants especially for mixing and agitating processes. This includes an agitator version (VL2 bearing) with larger bearing spacing and a reinforced output shaft bearing, as well as a Drywell version (VL3 bearing) with additional oil drip plate and leakage indicator or oil sensor. The “True Drywell” option (VL4 bearing or VL6 without output flange) offers ultimate security against leakage with reduced oil level and fixed protective tube. All contact seals are above the oil level, which means that leaks can basically be ruled out.

The SAFOMI IEC adapter (Sealless Adapter For Mixers) ensures even higher operational safety of agitator drives. It combines the functions of a standard IEC adapter and an oil expansion tank in a single component. This saves users the time-consuming installation of oil tanks and hoses while eliminating the need to install radial shaft seals that are prone to wear.
